C'est un film dur et beau pour le message finalement délivré, pour l'image.
Le postulat du film pourrait reposer sur la problématique suivante : la répétition de la violence est-elle inéluctable ?

Émotionnellement dense, le film est construit autour de la menace permanente d'un crime de vengeance : un jeune homme est régulièrement témoin des violences de son père contre sa mère, il dessine cette violence avec la promesse de mettre virtuellement fin à la vie du monstre, mais la réalité immédiate répète le scénario de la bande dessinée qui devient alors une prédiction.

The Noir Project is a short film, a tale-film of Grigoris Vardarinos, which intends to denounce domestic violence. It's a hard and beautiful film for the final message delivered, for the pictures.
The premise of the film could be based on the following question : is the repetition of the violence inescapable ?

Emotionally dense, the film is built around the constant threat of a revenge crime : a young man is regularly the witness of his father's violence against his mother, he draws this violence with the promise to virtually put an end to the life of the monster, but the immediate reality repeats the scenario of the comics drawn and becomes a prediction.

Then, Oedipus would take the place of Theseus to kill the Minotaur and would go with his mother to an odyssey in Germany.
Suddenly three myths emerge in one film and in an ordinary daylife, because this kind of violence is a commonplace in humanity.
The threat of Oedipus is to kill the monstrous father. Revenge is repeating violence, a calamity, an eternal circle.

On sait que la violence potentielle du fils est destinée à stopper net celle du père et c'est pour cela qu'elle revient en boucle non pas dans les images mais dans les intentions et les actes du personnage. Le suspens est donc continuel dans ce film, la fin nous révèle la réponse à la question : non, la répétition de la violence n'est pas inéluctable, au mot « give » inscrit sur les doigts du père se substituera celui de « take », prendre sa vie en main.
L'atmosphère de roman policier est entretenue par les dessins en noir et blanc dont le style se réfère aux films américains des années 40 et 50, à Marlowe et à la Nuit du chasseur.

We know that the potential violence of the son is used to stop the father's and that's why it comes back like a loop, not in the pictures but in the intentions and in the actions of the character. The suspense, constantly there in the whole movie, leads to an end that reveals the answer to the question : no, the repetition of the violence is not unavoidable, the world “give” written on the father's fingers is replaced by the world “take”, the protagonist takes his own life in his hands.

The atmosphere of a detective story is maintained by the black and white drawings whose style refers to American films of the of the 40s and the 50s, Marlowe and The Night of the Hunter .

La scénariste, Anastasia Bartzoulianou, est cinéphile et solidement liée au réel : cela donne une base de créativité réaliste pour raconter une histoire avec intelligence. Elle a reçu le prix du scénario au 4^e festival du film digital d'Athènes.

The writer of the screenplay, Anastasia Bartzoulianou, is a cinema lover strongly linked to the real : that makes a reality-creative base of telling a story intelligently. She received the price of the Best Screenplay at the 4th Athens International Digital Film Festival AIDFF.
